I'm worried about the amount of people there (Yellowstone.... Will it have the "feel" of the great outdoors or more like a drive through safari at six flags? I would hate to drive all the way out there just to see more people than animals It feels and looks like wilderness with a lot of cars in it. Some areas (where you have to park and get out & walk) will have a lot of people. However, it is definitely not like Six Flags!! Sort of in between the two extremes, and there are places you can go that will feel like wilderness - some of the less-popular hikes, or many picnic areas, can be almost deserted from time to time. You'll see more people than animals in the summer, but you'll still see a LOT of animals, especially buffalo and elk.
You asked if the CG pictured by Epenney (Bridge Bay) had hookups. No. Of the CGs inside the park, only Fishing Bridge (pictured by Horsedoc after your question) has hookups (FHU in that case). Pictures of the CGs posted are quite accurate as to general appearance.

A few people moving into the bedroom community we lived in complained that seeing RVs, boats and snowmobiles parked on village residents' properties looked "trashy" so the village enacted an ordinance restricting RV parking. A tiny little article in the newspaper, buried on a back page, was all the notice we received that such might happen. Fortunately I happened to read the paper that day! After amassing some support, about 45 RV/boat/snowmobile owners showed up at the meeting (vs about 5 people who didn't want us to have them on our properties) and we managed to get the rule watered down from what had been proposed. Not ideal, but better than it could have been. It happens all over - and all it takes is one non-RVer or a neighbor with an axe to grind to get the ball rolling, and not in our favor!

4 days to Yellowstone from PA - even if you're leaving from the western border of PA - is a LOT of driving per day, IMO. How much vacation time do you have total? That will depend on whether you can "break it up" or if you have to just hightail it for YNP and then back. In order to enjoy even most of the park's highlights you will need a MINIMUM of 3-4 FULL days there. It's huge (the size of RI & DE combined) and takes a lot of driving to get around - on 2-lane roads with people wanting to stop & see/take pictures of every little thing, just like you'll want to do. :)
Good advice so far from everyone here. Yes, Fishing Bridge is the only CG within the park that has any hookups at all. If you need to stay in a CG outside the park, pick one in West Yellowstone, as they're the closest town to a park entrance. (Not counting Gardiner, Mont., which is farther from most of the park's attractions.)

Spring break is basically all of March through the first half of April, as sometime during those weeks, someone somewhere in the U.S. is on spring break!! Definitely avoid Panama City Beach during that timeframe.

If you don't mind a little driving, Potato Creek SP is nice. During the week there should be plenty of sites available, but I'd suggest reservations for the weekend. Elec hookups and bathhouses with showers; dump station available. Sites are nice & large for the most part.

Just keep an eye out for weather. Snow has fallen in a few spots along the route. Many CGs in PA and north will be closed for the season so you'll need to check ahead.

We spent about 3-4 days there a number of years ago, and it was wonderful! We were very glad we went. The bus rides were fine, the wildlife was (for us, at least) very satisfying, the scenery was stupendous (as it is in nearly all of Alaska), and we are very happy we went. Given enough money & time, I'd do it again, under the same conditions.

Skipnchar is right, tag requirements differ from state to state. Tundra towing capacities will vary depending on the model and whether the tow package is included. With tow package, the 2007 (and later) CrewMax has the lowest tow rating, which is 10,100 lbs. Actually, towing a trailer up to 7500-8000 lbs (fully loaded) is realistic for the newer 5.7L Tundras with tow package installed.
Sounds like if you want a Tundra, you should visit a different Toyota dealer.

We're not in love with ours. Like the TT you're looking at, ours came with it (on dealer's lot). There is supposed to be a retrofit that allows one side to tilt a bit - unfortunately for those of us with main entry doors near the rear of the TT, that's the only end that will tilt. Haven't done that yet, but might - it got caught out in a light rain this fall and didn't take long for it to start sagging. IMO, an awning that can't be left out in light rain (and relatively light wind) isn't worth it. The only thing we like about it is that it's easy to open & retract.

I got a good chuckle out of your mention of the instructions - we forgot to read them, as that would have made it more simple than it ended up being. Basically we did what you did - DH carried it up top & then distributed it from there. I think the version they tell you in the instructions will work only the first time. I can't imagine getting it folded & rolled back up the way they had it! :)

Sounds like fun. Make sure you're allowed to do this, though (our county does not allow driveway camping). I'd suggest having a portapotti out there with you to use overnight - just in case one of those relatives forgets & locks your doors out of habit!!

When are you going? Virtually all CGs in the Black Hills will be crowded in early August, due to the Sturgis rally. Otherwise, you may want to choose one with more spacious sites. Rafter J is an excellent choice (Island section the best, I agree); if you like state parks better, look into Custer SP, which has several CGs - two of them have electric hookups, the others are dry camping.

The Lake Placid KOA is an excellent CG. Nice & wooded, so it's pretty and shaded, but there's room for big rigs. Nice pool, they rent sports equipment (canoes I think, etc.), breakfast (for sale, but reasonable) Thurs-Sun, clean bathrooms, etc. We really enjoyed it; spent about 4 nights there a couple years ago. Reservations WILL be needed during the summer season.

I don't think you will need air bags but you will CERTAINLY need a good weight distribution hitch.
I recommend you look at Reece Dual Cam or Equil-i-zer brand. Both incorporate a good anti-sway component as well.
Amen to that!!! Good trailer brake controller as well. Should work out well for you.
